What To Expect From Your Physio Appointment?

Physiotherapists are professionals in the musculoskeletal system and are often recommended by GPs for their ability to reduce stiffness and pain. A variety of conditions can also be assisted by physiotherapists. Their goal is to make people’s lives easier and their bodies function better. We are the team to call if you feel something is ‘not quite right’ or you need some extra support.

A consultation is a thorough evaluation and informed diagnosis. It also includes a discussion about your medical history. No two patients’ treatment plans will look the same, even if they have the same condition, so it goes to show that physiotherapy truly is about you! You have many options and your physiotherapist will discuss them with you.

Your physiotherapist should create bespoke treatment and management plans that are suitable to your needs after working together on the problems that you have. You and your goals for physiotherapy are the focal points to the treatment.

A variety of techniques are used by physiotherapists, including joint mobilisation and manipulation, muscle and myofascial releases, trigger point release and manual therapy. Dry needling and exercise therapy are also some of the options. They may also recommend active treatment such as electrotherapy, taping, hydrotherapy, and clinical Pilates. No matter what your physiotherapist recommends, they have done extensive research and believe the recommended treatment will be the best for you.
