Whatever the injury, there is physiotherapy that can ease your discomfort and feel better. It promotes recovery and helps you return to the activities you love.

A variety of treatments are available including massage, dry needling and joint mobilisation. We will work with you to determine the best treatment option for you. This will allow you to feel in complete control. You are in control of your body. We support you to ensure you’re on the right track.

Through the art and discipline of physiotherapy new meaning can be restored back to your life. In time, this may enable you to truly live your life again in a manner that brings you joy. If you’re a dedicated footy player, an aspiring dancer, or want to keep up with the grandkids, living your dream may be closer than you think!

No matter your age, condition, injury, or profession, physiotherapy can be a powerful tool to make the most of your mobility and well-being. Physiotherapy can be a powerful tool to get you back on the sports field, whether you are a student, an office worker, senior citizen or someone who is trying to achieve the highest level of success in your chosen profession.

The Advantages of Physiotherapy

A variety of health issues can be addressed by physiotherapy. They are available to people at all stages of life and activities. Physiotherapy can be done in many ways, each with its own set of goals depending on the needs and desires of the patient.

Reduce Pain

Physiotherapists have a wide range of training in pain management. All of these methods aim to reduce pain.

Improve Movement

Stiffness and/or discomfort can result in a decreased range of motion, which could have a negative impact upon your life. Physiotherapy aims to improve your range of motion by improving and maintaining joint integrity.

Assist in Healing

We want to see you heal from within by reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and providing treatment for your symptoms.

Strengthen Muscles

Strengthening exercises are an important part of physiotherapy. To do this we support you to work the muscle which encourages its growth, and in time, increases its strength.

Prevent Future Injury

We believe that prevention is not only our name but our calling! Prevention is always better than cure. We do our best to serve our patients and ensure they prevent any future injuries.

Improve your quality of life

Life is meant to be enjoyed, so don’t wait a minute longer to get started! Physiotherapy has a way to increase happiness and improve your quality of life.

What To Expect From Your Physio Appointment?

Physiotherapists treat the musculoskeletal systems and are often recommended by GPs because of their ability to decrease pain and stiffness. Physiotherapists also work with people with a variety of conditions, aiming to support their bodies to move better and get the most out of life. We can work together if something seems ‘off’ or needs improvement.

An initial consultation involves a thorough assessment and informed diagnosis and treatment, which considers relevant symptoms and your medical history. No two patients’ treatment plans will look the same, even if they have the same condition, so it goes to show that physiotherapy truly is about you! You have many options and your physiotherapist will discuss them with you.

Your physiotherapist must develop treatment and management strategies that suit your condition and goals. It doesn’t matter if you have a sore knee or headaches. Your treatment will be tailored to you and what you expect from physiotherapy.

Physiotherapists can use various techniques including manual therapy, dry needling, trigger points release, joint mobilisation and manipulation and muscular and myofascial relief. They may also recommend active treatment such as electrotherapy, taping, hydrotherapy, and clinical Pilates. Your physiotherapist will recommend the right treatment for you. They have carefully considered the options and are confident that they can aid you to achieve your goals.

Your Physiotherapy Questions Answered

Do I need to be referred to a physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists can be seen without the need for a referral from a doctor. The physiotherapists of A Pinch Of Physiotherapy are more than happy to work alongside your healthcare team; be they podiatrists, dentists, GPs or naturopaths; and are delighted to accept Enhanced Primary Care plans from your treating physician.
What qualifications does a physio have?
Physiotherapy is a highly regulated profession in Australia. This includes successful completion of university-level tertiary education, active membership in The Australian Physiotherapist Association and registration with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. To maintain active membership within these regulatory bodies, it is a professional requirement that all members undertake a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Practice Education (CPE) each calendar year. Patients can feel assured that their physiotherapist has been board-certified, adheres to an ethical code and is up to date with the latest research in their field.
How many sessions of physiotherapy are required?
The number of treatments you may need will vary based on your individual goals, needs and treatment plan. For some people may only need a couple of sessions, while others may require a more ongoing and long-term plan.
What should I wear for my physio appointment?
You don’t have to dress up to impress! You can wear whatever you like, but ensure that we can still work on the affected area of your body.
Can I pay for physiotherapy through Medicare or private insurance?
It depends on your personal circumstances. Physiotherapy coverage may also be available through Medicare under an Enhanced Primary Care plan. Private health insurance may or may not cover physiotherapy. We recommend that you speak with your insurer for advice.
