Our Physio Approach

From injury recovery and prevention to occupational health, pelvic floor support, continence care, and falls risk management, physiotherapy supports many aspects of your health journey.

Our team at A Pinch Of Prevention is dedicated to guiding you towards becoming the best physical version of yourself, in a way that respects your individual journey. Through detailed assessment and clear diagnosis, our physiotherapists create a tailored plan based on our 4 key steps: Release, Re-educate, Reinforce, and Retain.

Release: Loosening the primary muscle affecting the joint to restore more natural function.

Re-Educate: Improving the biomechanics of key muscles to promote smoother movement and minimise painful episodes.

Reinforce: Supporting recovery by strengthening muscles and reducing the chance of re-injury.

Retain: Guiding you to maintain good movement patterns so you can continue to live actively and confidently.

Your Physiotherapy Questions Answered

Do physiotherapists appointments require a referral?

Physiotherapists can be seen without the need for a referral from a doctor. A Pinch Of Physiotherapy physiotherapists work with other healthcare professionals, such as dentists, podiatrists, GPs, and naturopaths. We are happy to accept Enhanced primary care plans from your treating doctor.

What qualifications do physios have?

Physiotherapy is a highly regulated profession in Australia. This includes successful completion of university-level tertiary education, active membership in The Australian Physiotherapist Association and registration with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. To maintain active membership within these regulatory bodies, it is a professional requirement that all members undertake a minimum of 20 hours of Continuing Practice Education (CPE) each calendar year. These rules allow patients to be confident that their physiotherapists are board-certified professionals, subject to an ethics code of conduct, and fully informed about current research and techniques in their field.

How many physio sessions will I need?

Based on your goals, treatment plans and individual needs, the number of treatments that you might need may vary. For some people may only need a couple of sessions, while others may require a more ongoing and long-term plan.

What should I wear for my physio appointment?

There’s no need to dress to impress here! You can wear whatever you like, but ensure that we can still work on the affected area of your body. Shorts may be the best option for you if you are experiencing knee pain.

Is physiotherapy covered by Medicare or any private health insurance?

It depends on your personal circumstances. Physiotherapy coverage might be available through Medicare with an Enhanced Primary Care plan. Private health insurance may or not include physiotherapy – check with your provider.

How do I determine if physiotherapy is right for me?

Get in touch with our team if you aren’t sure physiotherapy would be right for your needs. Our physios will meet with you to evaluate your needs and assist you to choose the most beneficial treatment option for you.
